I listen to a fair amount of Christian music, as I firmly believe in God and try to grow my faith every day. In my listening to Christian music, I've discovered Christian artist Matthew West and his song called "Truth Be Told". The song talks about how we have become conditioned into putting up a facade of everything in our life being great and amazing when truth be told, things are far from being that way. In the song, he says, "I don't know why it's so hard to admit it when being honest is the only way to fix it." For me, the song provides some inspiration and courage to let MY truth be told. So, let that be a segway into some candid truth about me.
I know this Covid pandemic has negatively impacted countless people in countless ways. People struggle with their finances like never before, as well as with their health, family lives, and personal lives. Personally, and without getting into detail, it has unleashed the worst and longest season of financial hardship of my life, which continues to this day. Yet by God’s grace, my wife Jennifer and I still somehow have a roof over our heads. God was good enough to send us a very kind, patient, and understanding landlord. However, all of this is why I am now exploring the field of online entrepreneurship. Before, offering online guitar lessons and other musical ventures I’ve tried just never got off the ground. As well, the idea of getting a regular day job, working for someone else on someone else’s schedule, and helping to line their pockets more than my own just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. Though, I will certainly take the occasional odd job. Still, I've always been the kind of person who can't just do any old thing for a buck or a paycheck. It has to agree with my soul. And right now, if I can't tour the world playing music for a living, then living on my own schedule and exploring the new personal venture of e-commerce, starting a blog with some affiliate links, and finding other ways of participating in on-line business(es) seems like a new, agreeable way forward for me.
